Week of February 28 - March 4

     Upcoming Author Visit As part of our March is Reading Month Celebration this year, students and staff will have the opportunity to hear from author Marc Tyler Nobleman on March 9. He is a self-described "author of books for all ages, speaker, and pop culture archaeologist." His presentation centers around the power of reading and research. Homework Reminder Homework each night consists of reading 20+ minutes at home (this can be a library book, magazine, newspaper, online book, etc) and practicing multiplication and division facts 1 through 12. Mastering multiplication and division facts is vital to our learning this year. Students can also work on Lexia Core 5 and on IXL (NWEA Skills). Week of February 21-25

    Thank You! Thank you so much to our volunteers who made our Valentine's Day celebration possible! We had a great time! Computers on Tuesday On Tuesday February 22, students will be leaving their computers at school. They will be bringing them back home on Wednesday February 23. Upcoming Author Visit As part of our March is Reading Month Celebration this year, students and staff will have the opportunity to hear from author Marc Tyler Nobleman on March 9. In advance of his visit, we are partnering with Forever Books to offer a few of his books for purchase. Order forms were sent home last week. You can also access the form here . If you are interested in ordering any of these books, please complete the order form and return it along with payment to school before February 23. Books will be signed by the author...

Week of February 14-18

  Pajama Day We are allowing all 4th grade students to wear pajamas to school on Monday, February 14th.  This is optional.  Please make sure if your child chooses to participate that pajamas are school and weather appropriate. Please do not send in blankets, pillows or stuffed animals. Valentine's Day Celebration We will have our Valentine's Day Celebration on Monday February 14 from 12:30-1:45!  We'll be making Valentine's Day bags in class this week to collect our cards; due to space constraints in the classroom, please do not send in an additional bag or box for your child to collect Valentine's in. If your child would like to pass out Valentine's Day cards to the class on Monday February 14, you can access a list of students first names HERE ; please ensure there is one for each student if you are sending them in. If you are in need of Valentine's Day cards for your child to pass out, please contact me before Thursday February 10 so I can get some extras for you. Please feel free to send in Valentine's Day cards on either Friday February 11 or Monday February 14 and we can keep them here in the classroom for the party.
